Food allergies and intolerances may limit the variety of foods people can choose but with a good understanding of;
- What can be consumed
- How to read food labels
- Questions to ask when dining out
it is possible for people with food allergies to make many enjoyable choices.
On campus we are concerned about students, faculty and staff who have food allergies and intolerances so we try to provide information to make food choices easier.
- Access campus menus on-line to view the list of ingredients and the icons used to mark key allergens.
- Check recipe Nutrition Facts Labels to see allergen indications
- Download the attached handout for more information
If you have questions about foods on campus, please contact the campus Director of University Nutrition, Connie Diekman, M.Ed., Rd, LD, FADA. If you have a question while in a dining location, please ask to speak with one of the Chefs or Managers in that location.
Customer Responsibility
Ingredients and nutritional content may vary. Manufacturers may change their product formulation or consistency of ingredients without our knowledge, and product availability may fluctuate. While we make every effort to identify ingredients, we cannot assure against these contingencies. Therefore, it is ultimately the responsibility of the customer to judge whether or not to question ingredients or choose to eat selected foods. For questions regarding ingredients, please consult a Washington University/Bon Appetit Dining Services Chef or Manager at any Bon Appetit dining location.
